Hey there Etoilly babes,
So you’re preparing for your wedding day look? Let’s chat about your makeup! You’ll need a foundation that will keep your skin looking flawless in the photos while also not budging through the happy tears as you celebrate the best day ever and dance the night away! The truth is when it comes to your wedding day foundation, you can’t go wrong with Traditional (we use Estee Lauder Double Wear + Dior) or Airbrush. In this post, we have laid down the facts for both foundations to help you make an informed decision for your big day!
As professional makeup artists, our team takes pride in the application and longevity of the foundation that we use on our clients. We guarantee that our foundations are customizable in coverage and in the shade while also maintaining a 20-hour wear. Our brides and clients often have questions about the difference between airbrush vs. traditional foundations, so we thought what better than to give you the 411!
Let’s talk application. Airbrush makeup is applied by a sheer mist of controlled air that releases the colored foundation out of a small, handheld gun into the airstream. While the consistency of airbrush foundation is thinner than traditional, the foundation is buildable with coverage and is long-wearing. Traditional foundation can be applied by hand tools directed by the artist such as a brush or beauty blender. Traditional foundation can be blended into the skin to give a natural dewy look, while also having the ability to build up to more full coverage if desired.
As a company, using luxury brand products is taken very seriously — specifically only using tried and true makeup we love ourselves! Both traditional and airbrush foundations are used in conjunction with other cream and powder based products to achieve your overall look. Before applying either of these foundations, we prep your face with a moisturizer that pairs well with your skin and the foundation as well as a primer to ensure your makeup will hold on tight for all of the hours to come!
Overall, both foundations have the same longevity in their wear, both are sweat and tear proof (blot, don’t wipe), and both will leave you with the same flawless look! It truly is personal preference and we hope you have learned something along the way through this post! We always encourage our brides to do a bridal trial to feel confident about their look going into their wedding day and try their dress on with the final look in advance.
We are honored to be a part of your special day and love making you look like the best version of yourself, it just doesn’t feel like a job to us!
